Hope you all had a lovely Labor Day holiday weekend.
I do hate to get the week off to a rough start, but here I am feeling very a bit sad and more than just a little bit pouty. For whatever reason, I’m also not feeling very charitable today.
Maybe it’s because dealing with large tech companies with their stupid, broken, ID verification systems and their non-existent customer support just really gets under my skin.
I mean, I get the importance of making sure we’re all grown fucking adults. But, some organizations simply do not want to pay for systems that actually work – or the people who can help get around those problems when they don’t. And I guess that means they don’t want our money either.
This has been a problem before with OnlyFans and their crappy ID verification vendor Ondato. Frankly, I am getting sick of it, because it seems to happen about half the time.
Today’s obnoxious player is CashApp, who have been nice enough to send me a debit card in the physical mail, addressed to my legal name, but somehow can’t get their stuff together to verify who I am so that I can use it.

Seems like no matter how many times I show them my ID or passport and let them take pictures of my pretty face, their app just doesn’t work. It wouldn’t be a big fucking deal, as long as support had a helpful process for dealing with such contingencies. However, when you finally do get a support manager, they are just going to feed you the same line of bullshit that the front line chat support people do. Try again. Uninstall and reinstall the app. Wipe the Vaseline off your camera lens – as if!
We have been going around on this problem since Aug 25, which means it’s now been over a full week since I first reported the issue and asked for help.
Hey, tech bruhs! It gets old. You know damned well that your clever little AI aren’t well trained against underrepresented people in the population, so stop acting like you don’t need a backup plan.
We all just want to make a living, folks.
Personally, I think it’s time for a few class action lawsuits against all these jokers and their enshitified systems. Maybe if they get hit where it things, they will change what they’re doing.
